Why Does Nike Still Sponsor Justin Gatlin?

You still talk about him on a running board dominated by distance runners. This is why Nike still sponsors him. He still gets attention.

Nike's job is not to enforce drug rules. Nike is a shadow firm owed by China whose job it is to market and sell shoes. Nike does not care if drugs are affiliatied with Gatlin, Symmmonds, Armstrong, Rupp, Clemens, Ritzenhein, Wheating, Pujols, ... It's not Nike's job.

Remember, Nike head Phil Knight sent Tanya Harding a $25,000 check for her defense when her people clubbed Nancy Kerrigan.

Justin Gatlin knows the "policies" of Nike and could have provided witness/insight when Llewellyn Starks beat the crap out of Chris, the masseuse.

Nike doesn't care about image. One comment from a Nike rep once was "hey, as long as we can keep black urban kids in Air Jordans, we'll rule the world."

Nike would slap their name on an abortion factory if they could find out which one was the biggest.

I wear a NIKE singlet all the time and I am not sponsored. Don't we all race in name brand stuff. The only dif is that he is on tv doing so. I bet he just has an old uni and needs and races in it. no harm there.

This reminds me of the story (true or not) when Winston Churchill was drinking at a party. He met a fine young English lass and wanted to bed her. He asked her if she would sleep with him if he paid her $1 million pounds. She said of course.

Then he revealed to her that he only had 5 quid, would she do it for that? Her answer was 'what kind of woman do you think I am'?
