The 2010 track season is coming to an end. Who will be the next American to break the 5k record?
Solinsky - Obvious contender, 10k record holder and
Rupp - Improves every year, should likely have gone sub 13, former AJR 5k holder, 13th
Lagat - Current record holder, 2nd best mile in world history, numerous championship medals.
Ritzenhein - Former record holder, has not ran a track race since his record
Tegenkamp - Injured most of this year, 2 mile record holder
Webb - Meteoric talent, American mile record holder, HS Mile Record
Fernandez - Another meteoric talent, injured past year, but appears to be healthy (for now). AJR 5k, HSR 2 mile, Indoor Collegiate Mile Record, NCAA 1500 Champion
Derrick - Former AJR 5k holder, 3rd place NCAA XC as a sophomore
Jager - Jerry says he's the most talented runner that he's ever coached, not something said lightly
Wheating - Don't think he's ever ran a 5k, who knows what his range is, 5k record unlikely, but not impossible.
Who will it be?
