Alan Webb is not running the London Diamond league as previously stated by Al Sal. He is instead running a low key 800m at Hampstead Heath track in London, the home of British XC, as shown here:

It is often quite a windy track. I'm gonna say he goes 1.47.xx.

If his goal is to run 337 this year, i'd be happy with a 1:49-1:50 as a kick off race to get him on track.
If he goes 1:47 off the training he's done which probably doesn't include much fast stuff given the injurys he's coming back from, he's in pretty damn good shape.

Rupp got tripped, there was no good reason at all to finish the race as it was not a meet for a medal but for time. Finishing after falling is not advised when you're that deep into a race and fall. It's not worth risking injury at that point, if it's the olympics, sure go for it. Some unimportant meet...no way. Nate Brannen was a good example of what can happen after a fall if you try to go back to full speed, as he tore? something.
Rupp did the right thing, there'll be another day.
As for Webb, why would he got to Europe to run a 1:50? maybe because he has other races after it??
Alan Webb is a truly incredible athlete and Mr. Salazar has become one of the top coaches in the USA. There is a method to the madness.
I think that Mr. Salazar is trying to help Mr. Webb both mentally and physically. By taking a trip out of the "same old same old" to somewhere far from Oregon, he can get him back in the racing spirit, even if he "only" runs 1:50 at a low-key meet like this. I say he goes a bit faster than than 1:50.

This is just another publicity stunt to get fans to come out and support the meet. By "running" the 800m, Webb will be the official starter, he will ring the bell with a lap to go, and then he will handout water to those who actually ran in the race. Afterwards, Webb will be around for some photo ops and autographs for the guys in the race who showed up actually thinking they would be running against the "GREAT AMERICAN," Alan Webb!
It will be a great day for all those running the meet!! Both literally and figuratively!
