How much slower, on average, do you run on hilly terrain compared to flat? I know this answer would vary depending on how severe the hills are, type of runner, phase in training etc but at the same effort level, durring an easy run- not a race, how much slower is your pace compared to flat land. I am wondering because I attend college in an area that has moderately flat land and the team is used to training at a certain pace. Now that i'm at home doing my summer training, I struggle to hit the designated paces. I live in an extremely hilly area and I feel like my runs are about 30 seconds per mile slower than at school for the same effort level. I'm wondering if this is similiar for others or am I just really bad at running hills?
