If you're asking "Is this the white woman record?", it is not. Liliya Shobukhova ran 14:23 two years ago and has followed it up by winning Chicago and London Marathons.
Paula Radcliffe has ran 14:29.
darn...i thought had something there...thanks...next time i will do little more research
Jessica Augosto is one of the best for sure, and possibly the fastest white runner currently. But you should keep in mind there are runners like Paula Radcliffe who have run some great times in the past.
Just wondering, does anyone think we have anyone as talented as Jessica Augusto from Portugal? She just seems insanely talented to me.
I won't be surprised if Steph Twell gets down to 14.30 in the next few years. She is simply not fast enough for the 1500m, and her 14.54 (International debut - sort of) at the distance last summer, behind Molly Huddle - look at her progression the past couple of years - indicates such potential. With PR's of 2.02 and 4.02 Steph is certainly fast enough (look at Radcliffe)if she can handle the workload required.
Paula is 1/2 Asian from the UK. Atilla the Hun came from Asia and civilized England in 300AD. Hope this helps.
Any good vids of Twell? Her pics look pretty good. And in terms of pure talent, I've always been impressed with Jen Simpson. But after paying more attention to Molly Huddle, she might just be the most talented American. Still a tough call unless I can see them all run together.
Augusto looks like the most efficient female distance runner I've ever seen though. Even better than Anna Pierce.

2008 15:19.67 Hengelo 24/05/2008
2007 14:56.39 Roma 13/07/2007
2006 15:43.3 Bilbao 01/07/2006
2005 15:20.45 Heusden-Zolder 23/07/2005
2004 15:15.76 Heusden-Zolder 31/07/2004
2003 15:51.63 Maia 02/07/2003
Interesting progression. Maybe this is something she recently figured out?
Jessica Augosto is not white. Portuguese by definition are part Caucasian, Mongolian, Semitic, and Black African. Spain was controlled for centuries by the Visigoths who came from Central Asia and North East Asia. Portugal was a part of Spain when the Moors came from North Africa and civilized Spain. The Moor Civilization is a mixed world of Black African, Semitics, and Caucasians. Hope this helps.
Why is the OP not called a racist?
How many people would be able to say this about a 'black runner'??
I'm not at all interested in the race thing either. But with only a few exceptions, I have not figured out what makes the mechanics of the Ethiopian and Kenyan runners tick. As Jack Nicklaus said of Tiger Woods, "He plays a game which I am unfamiliar".
And my last post is a comment about a national issue, not a racial one it seems. I think I really get Zersenay Tadese (wasn't he born in Ethiopia?). At least the leg motion - not sure about the side to side upper body wobble, but I wouldn't mess with anything until someone beats his half marathon WR. And I think I really get the mechanics of the woman from Turkey, Gebelygesse, who got the silver in the 10000m at the last Olympics. Wasn't she born in Ethiopia also? Yeah, I probably didn't spell her name right.
But I just don't get Dibaba and Bekele. Not being sarcastic here, but how do you hit your butt with your heel when you are running? I might be able to do that, but how is it efficient?
