I have a good deal of pain in my arch that gets worse about half way through a run. Eventually, however, it almost feels like there's a tearing or popping of the arch tissue right at the bone and the pain will sometimes dissipate. So the pain is never there at the beginning of runs, and most times is gone by the end of runs, but the bone is usually still tender after.
I'm not entirely sure if the pain is just on the bone above the arch or if it's on the tissue that touches it as well, but it is very painful on the bone after runs.
I've been taking ibuprofen and icing to try and combat it but I don't know if it's working. I've also been running in really worn down shoes and just recently got new ones. I don't know if I should try them out though or just stick to the pool until I can get it checked out.
Does this sound like a stress fracture to anyone? Something else possibly?
