Lived 45 miles from A2 for a decade now. We haven't had too many bad days--training in a climate like this is nowhere near as bad as people who have never done it before think it would be. That's an incredibly bad sentence but you know what I mean. Sully and Willis seemed to handle it okay...

Even still, good luck to him preparing for the Michigan winters. Williamsburg heat sucks but he has no idea what he's in for regarding training outdoors in the winter.

I strongly disagree. I've been in the Midwest for 3 years and can't wait to leave. Absolutely hate it from December-March, and the summers can't make up for it. Actually, the dew point in the summers is horrible (went to Florida for vacation recently, and actually felt worse or comparable back at home). So you're dealing with terrible winters and terrible summers. However, I'll take hot and humid or hot and dry any day over poor, winter footing from ice and snow that's there for weeks and months. Fearing for my life/hips with every step is not fun, not fun at all. Treadmills suck ass.

Where in the Midwest? South-central Michigan hasn't been that bad. That said, I grew up in Ottawa, so I'm used to it--high humidex included.

It's bad when you're used to the South or West. I've tried my best to adapt and look at it positively, but I have yet to have a healthy winter here (without breaking or tearing something). This is not for me. Might be ok if you're coming from Canada.

The amount of snow depends on what part of the Midwest you live in. If you live in most of Indiana/Ohio/Illinois outside of Chicago, you will not have snow around the ground for most of winter.
