Maybe they pay him enuff where his wife just volunteers? I think U of Michigan would pay more than William and Mary. Or maybe they pay his wife alot and he volunteers?

gibby emailed his team a few hours ago.
what about his wife? wrote:
Dude, he is married ot Kathy Newberry, the head women's xc coach at William and Mary and CAA Coach of the Year last year. He has a better program than Michigan. Why leave? Doesn't make sense. I have to call BS as well.
OK, if I am wrong I will post an apology to the whole LR community. I expect you & yep to do the same if you are wrong.
I talked to someone who got the email, so I'm betting it is you 2 that owe everyone an apology.
shut up! you sound like a f#cking 10 yr old girl.

Mel Gibson? Is that you?
Gibby is going to Michigan.
Why is this so hard for people to understand? One of the most successful available coaches goes to one of the most appealing available jobs. The reign of Alexander the Gibby in Williamsburg has ended. On to Ann arbor. It will be interesting to see how he does.
Zach Ornealas' awesome high school coach, David Hilsentager will take over at Michigan. Much like Jim Ryun's hs coach, but instead moving to college with one year left in high, he waited until Zach was one year into college.
This is so true.
I am very disappointed that Laplante went outside of the UM family to replace Warhurst. It is a slap in the face to Warhurst's legacy of 36 yrs at UM. Perhaps this is a new and better direction for Michigan XC, but time will be the judge.
I think this is a great move for Michigan. gibby is a fantastic coach.
They went outside the family with Laplante! Ron himself was from Western Michigan.
As long as the guy has a proven track record and is a class act, I welcome him. RichRod makes me ill thinking of him as a the primary face of Michigan athletics. I can't wait until he's gone.
bump
Apparently you aren't familiar with the situation. Last I heard they are going through "a lot of problems." So I'm sure he wouldn't mind getting the hell out of there. Even still, good luck to him preparing for the Michigan winters. Williamsburg heat sucks but he has no idea what he's in for regarding training outdoors in the winter.
Plus, he will have to coach in a real conference for the 1st time ever while also scoring point in track!
1. If there is any lingering doubt, rest assured that this is happening. Gibby to UM.
2. How will the Michigan athletes respond to mileage increases of 30-50%? They are plenty hurt enough as it is.
mileage does not cause injuries. SPEED DOES.

Well, there is at least 1 skeptic out there. Where are you yup? Time to call bs again!
mileage doesn't cause injuries, speed doesn't cause injuries, laziness and lapses in focus cause injuries. pretty sure alex gibby would agree with me.

According to information on Michigan's library website Warhurst was making 92.7k per year. I think they're paying better than W&M
It's hard to imagine that Gibby would make what Warhurst is making. My bet is somewhere in the $75k range
