Watch out for Peter Wiggin, he will be up there. I have heard he has a mean streak.
etown will be hard to beat but messiah and desales will be right in the mix... id say newhook can hold off reichert once again.. who the hell is peter wiggin?
possible conference mix up?? There's going to be more guys up in the front this year. Etown has to be preseason favorite. Messiah doesn't have that much firepower, they lost a couple seniors. Desales returns most of their top 7 and Widener didn't lose anyone so they'll be battling with etown.
i agree. this year is going to be one of the closest years in a long time. i think messiah is deep enough that they will find a strong top 5 by the end of the season. Etown returns 4 out of 5? of their top guys (might be wrong on that), so they willbe tough to beat. Etwon, Messiah, DeSales, Widener will be all be very strong this year.
Who do you think the top 10 guys are going to be?
I believe Widener graduates DiCarlo and they were really only 5 deep last season. However, they always find a way to put out a good team so I'd expect them.
I can't see anyone beating Etown if they are on their game. Too many good runners. I think it will be a race for second with Messiah, Desales, Widener and LVC on the men's side Messiah lost a few but has some quality runners. DeSales doesn't lose much and LVC has been looking a little stronger and I don't think loses much from last year.
What about the women?
DiCarlo will be back in the fall so Widener is returning everyone. I can say with confidence that the top 3 will be some combination of Newhook, Miller, Reichert. After that it gets very very close. Going off last year's results, i think that everyone in the top 30 has the potential to be top 15 this year (there were only 7 seniors in the top 30 last year).
Really ? Etowns whole team is back. No one else is 5 deep.

6 Myles Lund Elizabethtown College 27:35.62 SR
Etowns 3rd finisher. you do make a valid point though, Heisey (etowns 6th man) was 12th. im just saying that, individually, the meet will be a lot closer than the last few years.

Watch out for Andrew Springer. He's been getting the miles and focusing on the details fueling himself with pepsi, waffles, and spaghetti.
I'll leave out Widener to avoid bias on my part but I think we'll have a couple guys in the top 10.
1. reichert, etown
2. newhook, messiah
3. miller, etown
4. curry, desales
5. dearmitt, etown
6. larsen, etown
7. redmond, misericordia
8. focht, etown
9. cook, albright
10. speiden, etown
Lund graduates but they return Richard Greco who was studying abroad last year. Etown will be too tough to beat (and I say that as an alumnus of a different program). Just way too strong this year.
However, all of the other teams I noted in my previous comment will make the race for second place interesting.
And hotpants you are correct, anyone in the top 30 last year is / was a damn good runner! Many fine track performances last year in the MAC and I expect that it will correlate to a very competitive fall. Everyone better be on their game as I think the teams scores (aside from Etown) should be very close and make for some exciting races.
Etown will be tough to beat but it's not like they're invincible. They all got hurt at some point last year so injuries might be a problem for them going into XC and getting through the entire season healthy. No one in the MAC is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference so it'll be a war.
It's the same thing every year since the old MAC has been dismantled. Etown is the "favorite" (figuratively speaking), Messiah will come close but not close enough, and Desales will have a fun time finishing in 3rd. Etown will recruit some hot shots and they will either remain a stud then crash and burn or just crash and burn from the start. Messiah probably won't get anyone new on their roster but will race hard every weekend leaving their legs toast by the end of the year. And Desales will run in two conferences to double their chances of winning a conference title.
who crashed and burned at elizabethtown? they went to nationals last year.
Anyone know if there's any fast freshmen coming in?

DeSales doesnt view CTCs as winning a conference champ. no one cares about that; the important one to them, as everyone else, is MACs..and yea they like to have a little too much fun and they dont let losing ruin their lives, but they can be competitive when need be
dont count them out, hopefully they'll have everyone perform when it counts this year as opposed to last year where they just plain sucked at MACs having a few from their top 7 not even finishing in the top 30. they also got two promising incoming freshman that could do some damage. MACs is at del val and thats where desales pulled the huge upset and won for the first time in school history

Pretty sure Messiah won 2 years ago AT Etown...
