How long does it take for the body to adjust to running 100 miles a week? And how long does it take to start reaping the rewards?
I know it depends on the person and their background, but there has to be some kind of average.
Before jumping to 100 mpw on doubles I was doing 70-75 mpw on singles and feeling great. I have been floating around 100 for six weeks now and not feeling so hot. My times have gotten slower (5k from 15:20 to 15:45) and I'm tired all the time.
I'm more than willing to put in whatever work is needed to get fast, but I want to be smart about it too. I'm wondering how long I should give it at 100 before saying that my body just works better at 75.
If I need to delay the gratification of racing fast for a long time, are there any small rewards I can seek to keep me motivated?
