NY will use a negative curve on the Regents

No one cares about regents scores. Honestly, a school could careless when looking at those.

Agreed. As long as you pass them, no one cares what your score is. I'm not really in favor of them dumbing the test down because of the inevitable ratchet effect in the future, but I am glad to see more high school students will have a chance to graduate.

College is the new high school, anyway. For good and ill.

I could've broken 90 without this curve

This isn't new. Go download a conversion chart from any of the past years and you'll see that if you get more than 75% of the questions correct, there is a negative curve.

But, who cares? For most of the tests you don't need to get half the questions correct to even pass.

Global and US don't curve like science and math.

For Global 30 multiple choice (Double it) + the score out of 12 (this year) for the documents = one score.

Say you get 25 multiple choice (50) + 11 on the documents (61)

Across the top is the combination of your two essays (out of 5 each).

Cross reference where they meet is your grade.

Colleges (decent ones) like an 85 or above but it's not going to make or break you getting in.
