The Kinvara is not a minimalist shoes. There is to much cushion in the shoe to be considered that. Also Saucony has always had an A-series type shoe with the same dimensions and purpose, but only now are they posting it is good for minimalist running

No, not the same dimensions. The Type A3 has a heel-to-toe drop from 20mm to 8mm, while the Type A4 has a drop from 13mm to 9mm. Huge difference. Any other shoes out there this low (maybe some of the Asics or Mizunos)? Wouldn't be surprised to see other companies moving this way, ~less heel lift. It's like the shoes from the 70's/80's, but with better materials.

Yes they have always had an A-series, but it did not have the same dimensions. The old A-3 has a heel to toe drop of closer to 15mm. Very different than 4mm. That's a huge difference and hadn't been found in any of there other shoes other than xc flats until now.

Less material to break down = you'll get more mileage out of them.
It looks like the closest heel-to-toe drop is the Asics Piranha at 14mm/10mm. The Grid Type A4 has them beat, wow.

Guys , its just a racing shoe that everybody wants to fit into a new category.

The shoes will feel flat , so runners will request a little more toe spring , now its a racing flat. Runners no matter how you try to categorize it like the feeling of runner faster in shoes , not flatter or a dead feel , non responsive We improved on those old shoes of the 70's/80's. We also learned few people can train in low profile shoes over extended periods of time.
I know many feel this is a new revolution of change , truth is its all old re-hash.

oh wow...minimalist runners use some racing flats (usually road racing flats) as their trainers; now answer this...Is a racing flat minimal or not? 14mm and 9mm? 4mm offset? about 6.3 oz? Idk maybe its a motion control shoe that weighs like a dumbbell restricting you from running freely like you are barefoot like humans were originally doing when they first appeared. Were there shoes that long back? I dont think so. *Anyone agree with me? Im pretty sure I made my point.*

The heal to toe drop on the kinvara is tiny, I believe it fits the minimalist idea perfectly

I like the new Puma Yugo Run. Like an H street with a bit nmore cushion for the fat bastards like myself.
I really liked the feel of the A4's but they were way too narrow in the forefoot. Great shoe besides that.
Saucony is also coming out with a minimalist 'slipper' running shoe
