watch out for desales in the MAC this year!!!
if you make the thread you should throw out some predictions or thoughts to jump-start it
ok zanzabar...
the region held up well last year at nationals for the most part, it sucks that its at carnegie mellon(at least thats what i heard) this year because i hear it is a very challenging course and i would much rather have a flat, fast course but oh well
Team wise (just guys):
Haverford, Allegheny, and Etown should be strong
i pretty much agree, it was nice having it a lehigh.. always fast there. also, being at carnegie mellon, u have to give the home team a good chance as well
Desales should be very good, men's side will be very competitive through 6 teams although I don't see anybody stopping E-town. 2nd Place should be a fight though.
Women's will be interesting as well. Top 4 teams from last year, E-town, Messiah, Misericordia and Lebanon Valley could all be in the hunt for the win.
Just speaking within the MAC of course.
I have never run the new course but I think it is 2.5 miles down and 2.5 miles up.

Does this seem like the course?
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3790007How big is the start of the course? Will it be a sprint to the first turn so you don't get boxed in? Looks to be about a quarter of a mile.
what about any individuals that stick out? for the mac and whole mideast region?

Generally, I agree with you, but not for regionals. The turn-around to nationals is too short to have guys going all-out for an 8k on a really hard course. On the other hand, I love seeing who survives hard courses at nationals.
Marker and Parker have to be among the individual favorites. Stephen Welsh will be a nice addition for E-town.
For individuals from the MAC
Men: Recihert from Etown (AA) and Newhook from Messiah (MAC Champion) have to be considered up there. Curry from DeSales is a strong runner as well.
Women: Cronin from Lebanon Valley (Mideast Regional Champ), Shank from Etown (had a great track season), Orrson from Misericordia (also had a great track season). Also heard that Long from Lebanon Valley is back as well.
from what i see in the results.. curry did terrible, are u sure about that?
In track, he won the 3K Steeple and placed 2nd in a tight 5K at Outdoor MACs and won the 5K at Indoor MACs. Looks to me like he had an off cross country season. Just saying I wouldn't be surprised to see him right up there this year.
i'm just wondering what kind of summer training you guys do leading up to the xc season in the fall.. could someone elaborate for me like mileage? long runs? workouts? cross training? that kind of stuff
our team tends to get up to 60-70 mpw at the end of the summer and runs around the same for most of the season... long runs are from 12-15 at end of summer and into heart of season, no workouts during summer just strides every once and a while or some pickups and just upper body lifting some leg strength exercises and core a couple times a week
bump
meet is at cooper lake....slippery rock home course.
where did u get your info?
