Yeah, compared to the general public, that is a great time. For a high school age girl, that is pretty good, but not exceptional. For a young high school boy, that is decent (the first mile I ever ran my freshman year was a 5:40). For a high school boy in 11th or 12th grade, that is pretty slow. It's all relative.

The presidential A standard for fitness lists a 7:00 mile for 12 grade males- So in general it is good. :0) AS for a track athlete in HS, it is eh for a girl and bleh for a boy.

Well...id say slow....for a guy...even for a freshmen.....for a girl. Its. Its ok......my first mile (in 8th grade) I've ever did was a 5:37....now I'm a sophmore and run a 4:52..I don't tink this is even good.....is it?
