Ethiopia used to own Kenya on world/cross championships and Olympics, but Kenyans were the kings of the road. But lately, the trend seems to change in both directions. Kenya is winning more championship medals (first ever marathon gold in 08, women 5k/10K, marathon gold in Berlin 09, x-country 10), while Ethiopians are winning most of the road races and losing their share of world/Olympic golds. Am I jumping to a conclusion too fast, or has any of you felt the same?
Are you blind or what....Kenya is winning both in the championships and on roads.Just last weekend Linet Chepkirui ran 30.45 on roads,Mathati and Kogo ran low 27s.Which road races do you refer to when you say ethiopians are dominating.I know an ethiopian won rome marathon and regassa won at the cresent classic but still kenyans have been overwhelming overall on roads as usual.Ethiopia still has Defar who will still dominate and the new 1500m female runner,apart from those the rest are prety much ordinary.By the way you forget Hile was beaten in NYC.
Both nations are top running powerhouses to be admired for producing so many talented athletes. I wouldn't attempt to trivialize the many great accomplishments of runners from both countries by playing a game of "which one is 'better.' "

Take a look at the IAAF's top lists for 2010. Both Ethiopian men and women are ahead of the Kenyan men in the marathon so far this year. That may change this month at least for the men but over the last two years Ethiopia has significantly closed the gap.
LOL....2010 marathon list? You mean Dubai,Rome and which other famous ones?......Wake up my friend.If you were talking about 2010 Half marathons then maybe i would take you seriously coz so far there have been some top class HM races e.g Lisbon,NYC etc.
