i want to see who other people think will have breakout years this year in cross country or distance and mid-distance track events. or, you can even say a certain program that will have a breakout year in cross.
my vote: jordan desilets of eastern michigan in cross country
reasoning: he improved greatly in the steeple this past year placing very well at nationals. however, he didn't qualify for nationals in cross. i think the strength and toughness required to run the steeple will aid him in pursuing a more elite status in cross (not to say that he hasn't run well in cross before).

Kara Price of NC State (sister of twin Kristen, the 10000m champion)... she's finally over some injuries and ready to help NC State finish in the top 5 in XC.
-
Boaz, Ritz, Torres, Webb........opps
-
Adam Tenforde, Stanford -- after good NCAA track 10k placing
Dan Lincoln, Ark -- finally a top five contender at NCs. -
I agree with you about Tenforde. It took him a couple of years to really adjust to college running, but from watching him in high school I think that he's a better XC runner than he is on the track.

Josh Spiker
Ritz - He's going to win something big next year. -
One Inbo Igiti, pr in da 5 mile is 21:00 mins. pretty impressive. Also Jouhda hihkal is a miler with a pr of 3:49. Better Watch out

But I think J. Torres will get his first NCAA Title.

this is on the shorter shide of mid-distance, but i would look to the 800 for some really amazing times this coming year. with so much young, good talent like johnson at tech and all the others it should be a great event to watch, and hopefully they can all push eachother and one of them will truely "break-out"
