GREAT JOB! I can recall when the qualifying time for open men was 2:50 which will forever be outside my capability.
I could never do that & guys in my club were KILLING themselves hammering out 2:53, 2:52, 2:51!!! Boston was a RACE back then. Qualifying was an achievement.
Of course that was a different America.

I call it a stupid prank. Those times would just be a slight adjustment to their current system. Now if you would have said they make it an elite + subelite only race with cutoff 2:35 (and 3h for women), that would have made a lot more sense for an Aprils Fool Prank.
