Have any of you used Road Runner Sports' Shoe Dog application to pick a shoe? Was it helpful in helping you pick the correct shoe or a tedious process of entering a lot of information. Just curious.

I'm using it and would like feedback to see if other experienced runners have found it effective. Don't want to get the wrong shoe.
go to a running store. it will be more effective than the guess work of a dog.
hahaha thank you.
i call the 'shoe dog' the 'kayano and superfeet machine'
Good one and when they are running a promotion with Nike then some Nike shoe seems to pop up as the "right shoe for you". Nike first says the "head runner" or "big runner" or what ever the hell he calls himself these days.
Don't bother. Ask around and go to a store where they know what they're doing. Either that or contact the
Bart Hersey people up in Massachusetts and get some custom shoes made.
I used to work there, and I have my two cents: If you are referring to the online shoe dog that they walk you through, it is pointless. It asks you to classify your own arch, and everyone who would do it would usually classify themselves incorrectly.
The Shoe dog at the store is just a way for them to set up sock and insole sales. It really has nothing to do with what type of shoe you need, and everything to do with them trying to get you in insoles and socks. That company is robbing people blind with that insole scam they run, but more power to them if they think that is a way to run a business with integrity.
The way they sell used shoes that were returned by other customers is just slimy and unprofessional. I can't believe the shoe companies let them get away with it. Their stores are pretty much a joke...glorified Footlockers. In addition, the "Nike first" policy is not a rumor and is a direct contradiction to the "shoe dog" custom fitting bs.
I was always disturbed by the amount of shoes that were returned with blood on them or in them (due to improper fitting) that would end up on that once worn pile. I thought that had to be some sort of health hazard, but I guess that is no problem at RRS.
The Nike first is definitely no rumor, and Saucony is in on the action now too.
