The situation: I'm a good enough female runner who can run an 11:10 3200 on a pretty regular basis. But when THAT time of the month comes, I run like a friggin' goddess! For example, my non-period-influenced 3200 pr is 11:03, but my period-influenced pr is 10:40. Although I find this rather cool, it's also a little disturbing especially as this unique situation only started a year ago.
The actual question: Have any other female runners out there ever had this happen to you (if you're male and this has happened to you, then, please, see a doctor)? And what sort of hormones could drive this sudden, temporary increase in ability?
