This might sound crazy, but I wanted to throw this on you guys to see what you thought. About a year or so ago, I decided to run on a treadmill at the gym instead of running outside. Usually if I do, I will do my workout and sometimes jump in the jacuzzi, but it was one of those days at work and I decided to do things backwards.
Anyways, after about 7-8 min in the jacuzzi, I jumped on the treadmill and was doing my run, and it seemed that I didn't start to sweat like I normally would. I don't think it had to do with the fact the AC was on, but just to test this out, I jumped in the shower for about 5 min or so before one of my long runs, and it was like it actually like it cooled me down. It makes doing long runs and intervals somewhat easier especially living in the south where the humidity hangs over 90% on a regular basis.
Seriously, some of you guys should try it. Just jump in the shower before your next hard workout or race even and see if it works. I usually start to break a sweat on my long runs just before the 2 mile mark and after trying this, I didn't break one till the 3 mile mark.
Just food for thought. Never know. Might work for you.
