Ah, one more thing - some studies suggest, that high doses of iodine can flush down bromine and fluoride, this is one of main reasons why I started with very high doses of iodine before switching to intermediate.
You shouldn't be overdoing the iodine if you have a mild thyroid condition. Please read below:
http://thyroid.about.com/od/newscontroversies/a/toomuchiodine.htmYou very well could have pushed things out of control. Also, you say your TSH is only slighty high, but this is likely not constant. If you have developed autoimmune thyroiditis it will fluctuate significantly.
In addition, on diet, if you are new to running, you have to realize that your vegan diet may have worked beforehand, but you are probably not adjusting your diet in the correct manner to compensate for the new physical routine. You really should eat a more omnivorous diet; you are not Kenyan, and you do not have their physiology. Besides, why do you need to be so Kingdomist, what makes animal life so much more valuable than plant life? A single cow can feed a lot of people, while a single bowl of beans is like killing 200-300 unborn children. Not criticizing, just trying to put things into perspective, maybe that will make it easier to feed yourself a healthier running diet. Everytime you eat meat just think of all of those screaming bean-babies you have just saved.
