Yes because when I think of "bad coaches" the first one to come to mind is the one whose athletes won every event from the steeple on up and finished 2-3 in the 1500.

That was actually Princeton's sprint coach. Apparently what happened was with all the training-room stuff he had to go through between the 4x1 and 400 he didn't have enough time to properly warm up before the 400 and would have been running it cold: a recipe for disaster if you just pulled a muscle. The coaching staff advised him to scratch but apparently nobody told him that they meant from the entire meet, not just from the 400.
