A week ago I came down on my left foot (mid-forefoot runner) and bam, excruciating pain mid way up my left calf. I tried to hobble but I couldn't put any weight on it and had to hobble one legged all the way back a couple miles. Bought crutches for the day, but was able to walk the next few days if I just waddled on my heel. It was a bit swollen as well. Took the whole week off. The last two days I did just little jogs across my living room and it didn't hurt. I figured I'd take off until today. Today I took it VERY easy. Just jogged. One mile and it felt fine. Mile and a quarter I felt a kind of tightening in the calf. Then maybe a small cramp? Then cramp...then pain. (I say cramp, but...that's just what it felt like...) So I did a few jogs through the pain and found that I can lightly jog through the pain, it's not the "can't put weight on it" kind of pain from last week. I picked up the pace and found the faster I went, the less it hurt.... just shuffling hurt terribly though. I can walk around on the tips of my toes with no pain. If I do a flat footed squat, pain. Mainly centered around where the upper and lower calf meet. I've got it up right now but it's throbbing a little and feels like little muscle spasms all up and down my lower leg. Is this my calf or my Achilles? And if anyone knows what I did and has any advice, I'd be grateful.
