Well, as you can see, this week was not so good. On my Sunday run last weekend, I tweaked my right achilles. I have a history of achilles problems dating back to college. I've somehow avoided any issues for the past couple of years, but I've been doing a lot of form work lately, and I think it tightened up my calves a lot, causing a lot of stress on my achilles. So to be smart, I took a few days off and tried to rehab the achilles as much as possible. I finally ran on Thursday, and things felt good, so I decided to go ahead and go down to Lexington for Clubs with my team. Things felt good on Friday's run on the course, so I made the decision to race. I actually felt reasonably decent in the race, though I held back a bit for fear of messing up the achilles with all the hills and mud. Fortunately, it seems to have survived the trauma for the most part. I took Sunday off and will be taking a couple more days off this week to work on rehabbing the tendon. Hopefully after that it will be ready to go. I think I've averted disaster for now. I'm just hoping to get things back on track quickly so that I can get into a solid groove again.
