So here is the lowdown. I'm a top seven runner on a nationally ranked D1 team, by no means am I racing slow but I'm not racing to where I want to be. I'm doing workouts with our top four guys and I feel great doing it, the workouts and runs are neither too hard nor too easy. I've been feeling better each week and improving but I'm not up racing with the guys on my team I was last year. I had a good Cross season last year, and a decent indoor season but red-shirted outdoor track due to an injury. This put me behind on racing experience. My summer training went very well and my training is going great too it's just that I'm becoming frustrated with my racing results. I know that being patient and the post season is the most important, but racing well just not great is frustrating. I seem to be the most consistent trainer, always able to complete challenging workouts but sometimes in races I don't bid so well. Can being injured affect your racing performances? I feel like I'm gaining momentum and becoming fitter, but its hard to be confident. Again I'm not racing poorly just not phenomenally either. Advice or past experiences would be great!
