Is it poor etiquette to go about daily errands wearing only running gear after a morning run?

perfectly acceptable i believe....i go to class wearing running shorts, and often times i will run, take a shower, and put on a different pair of running shorts (clean of course) just to wear around...if people don't like it screw them...

It depends. Do you live in Southern California, Hawaii or Florida? If so, you can probably get away with it if you are not sweaty and smelly, and if you are not too old to be seen in public in short shorts and a tank top. Would you wear those two items if you were not running? It can be pretty gross to stand next to a near-naked, hairy, middle-aged man in the grocery or bank line. You should take a T-shirt to throw on.

Hahaha I feel this way too. Usually I put a quick spray of deodorant on and have a quick towel off if its been raining or I've run on muddy trails or similar.

Also looking at my first post I should clarify I'm not meaning to offend the overweight with the 'fat people' comment I'm more referring to the fact they shouldn't disparage people wearing running gear because they've most likely never done so before in their life.

I often make fun of people like you, because you look like you are trumpetting to people of the world that you are runner. Yes, you look vain. Yes, you look kind of ridiculous. And yes, I run more miles and faster than you do.

i see nothing wrong with this.

i wear my running shorts elsewhere, because if i go to any regular store to buy shorts when it's hot outside, the shortest they have still go below the knee, and that's like wearing capri pants.

if stores made regular khaki shorts that went to at or about 1 inch above the knee, i would definitely wear them. so i wear my shorts for comfort reasons.

OK. You still look silly and vain regardless of your intention. May I suggest a skirt?

just bought a new car tonight in running shorts and a t shirt. It was the grand opening, food, drinks, and music. Everyone there was dressed up. I drove in not knowing there was a party going on inside, but after working out I usely drive throught the lot checking out inventory. This time I got out of my car when I relized there was free food and drinks inside...to make long story short I bought a car! I think all the other car salesman thought the guy who sold me the car was wasting his time, but they were wrong...I wasnt there just to eat free!...PS the free stuff was actually pretty good with large portions!

In this economy, you could walk in wearing your wife's thong and still get great service.

If you're young (<22), that's OK.

If older, please change before running errands. Especially if you're a skinny man with short shorts, or hairy, or out of shape...Not a pretty sight at the grocery store!

I am always soaking wet after running. The first thing that I do is shower, dry off and put on clean clothes.

At races I have toweled off and then changed clothes in the restroom or the car. I prefer going places in khaki shorts and short sleeved shirt and not in running clothes. Running clothes are not that comfortable for me to wear them for anything except running.

Paradoxically, runners don't have the right build for wearing a singlet in public.

i don't understand why...i wear them mostly when it's hot outside, and i don't want to wear jeans in 85+ degrees.
