This has to be a joke. There were more ex-Colorado runners at the Olympic Trials then ANY OTHER SCHOOL!
I don't think that is a function of Wetmore burning out his athletes.
Unlike, let's say, McDonnell. Who was a PHENOMENAL coach... one of the best distance coaches in the world. But who got everything from his athletes and within 2 years of ending school, were done (Lassiter, Cragg, even Lincoln).
I have 0 ties to Colorado, but Mark is a genius at developing runners and leaving them fresh and hungry post collegiately. I honestly can not think of a better coach who prepares his athletes better for a post collegiate career.
Lanana? No. McDonnell? No. Schumacher? Maybe, but not enough data points and is a moot point now that he isn't at a university.
