People come on ya just can't run your wednesday and hell even saturday meet because it's already 80 degrees at night and the morning. The south sucks. I have this problem too, what should I really do?
My 2 cents from my own experiences: I felt best adapted to heat after a summer I spent mowing lawns in the South. It was long steady efforts, but not as strenuous as running (which I did before dawn when it was cooler), and I took breaks in the shade, to get a drink of water, rest, etc. This meant I was in the heat for a long time each day, and my body got used to it.
I wonder if spending a long time outdoors in the heat at some level of moderate activity that you can sustain for a long time without killing yourself would be the best way to acclimatize your body to the heat. I also wonder turning off the A/C or just spending time outdoors in the shade when it's hot (studying or reading or whatever) would help reset what your body thinks is normal to a higher temperature.
Keep hydrated and get your head soaking wet before you run. The cooler you start off, the longer you'll stay cool. Plus your body needs to be well hydrated to cool itself, so any dehydration will screw you hard when it's hot.
