Read "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Diamond. Good book.
Mr. Diamond is an avowed Marxist who hates Western Civilization. He and others of his ilk - who claim to be non-white amongst 'their own' - always come up with bizarre theories to disparage the West, to make any success or positive influences from the West seem to be merely 'accidents' or some such crap, trying to make us think that nothing good came from the West until post 1965, when his group of hypocritical haters took control of large areas of the US government. But like everything else, control is temporary, and they will lose their grip as conditions in the West worsen due to their arrogant, misguided policies that never work in the real world.
People get too wrapped up in "IQ". Not all areas of intelligence are measured in IQ tests, although what is measured in the tests is measured well. While Asians have high visuospatial ability on average compared with Caucasians, which can aid in computation, their verbal/analytical reasoning skills are on average below that of Caucasians. Some feel that peoples with a more even balance between verbal/analytical and visuospatial skills have advantages in problem recognition and creativity. It's interesting to note that in mathematics, while a high percentage of Asians do well, of those that pursue mathematics as a career, almost 98% go into applied mathematics. Something to ponder.
Mr. Diamond and his friends are best summed up in a book called "The Culture of Critique" by Dr. Kevin MacDonald. Mr. MacDonald had to endure being called "racist" and "anti-Semitic" by Diamond and others, who turned out not to have read the book. The book isn't racist at all, just a clinical examination of people like Mr. Diamond who critique all others while not being able to handle being put under the microscope themselves. These people seem to have a very high level of self-deception, in many cases they believe, to a point, the disingenuous drivel they put forth as scholarship. In many other cases, they are being purposely deceptive.
In the end, the East simply stagnated for many years. The silly theories of "strong central governments" etc are merely excuses that don't stand up to scrutiny. Whether the mindset is a function of culture or the culture is a function of an inborn mindset is up for debate. At the moment, with anti-Western academic frauds controlling most of what is published and in fact taught in American Universities, the West will continue to slide until the inevitable collapse of the current system.
If you don't think there's behind the scenes manipulation of scholarship, and ethnic favoritism in publishing, try to have a book published. If you are of a certain background, you will be aided every step of the way. If you are not, you had better make sure your work is critical, negative toward the pre-1965 US or you will be SOL with the mainstream publishing houses, academic and otherwise.
