That was the best competitive performance I've seen by an American distance runner since Prefontaine in 1972 ... Ritz ran his own race (dead last at 2k) and had the fastest last 4 laps in the end to get 3rd place overall in Zurich 5000m ... Congrat's Ritz ... American record and # 2 best non-African performance ever!

Great run Ritz. I do think Dieter Bauman and Buster Mottram have slightly faster 5Km times.
How does one go from running a decent marathon in the spring to running the fastest time ever run by a white guy at 5000 meters at the end of the summer? It seems impossible. Even the Africans don't do that.
