more intriguing; what will happen in the 4x100? Who from the US will line up? I think Tyson Gay will not be at the meet, but you still have Doc Patton and Michael Rodgers in attendance. Hopefully Doc is forced to race it since he bumbled the hand off in Beijing. Can the Jamacians lower their WR? Bolt and Powell are there, and in all honesty, other than the kid that falsely tested positive earlier this year, can't they just put Shelly Ann and Virginia on the team and win?
Men's 800 will be awesome. I anticipate Borzo coming at Bram Som right off the line and landing a haymaker to the back of the head for being in the final. Som and Lewandowski didn't belong in the Berlin final, and they certainly don't belong in this race.

Nope, and he'd be foolish to even try. Milk that 9.58, collect $250,000 per meet, then try again (with a big payday) when it become "old news". He needs to "go Bubka" if he can.

What? And beat the 100m WR by 1cm?! Could be tough...
the key word is IF HE CAN. Obviously without the rounds and pressure, he can go faster but if he races to his fullest every meet, he'll be flat. (i.e. Blanca Vlasic last year won every meet at 2.04 or better it seemed but lost in Beijing when it counted.) Too many variables in the 100m to try every major meet.
Can you honestly tell me that Bram Som and Marcin Lewandowski were going to make it through to the next round? I know that we don't run races on paper, and the fastest on the day wins, but come on. Bram Som ran 1:43 in 2006. Since then he ran 1"44.12 in a super fast race this year in Monaco, and has been running 1:45's every other time.
Lewandowski ran 1:43 this year, and may be on the up, but he wasn't making that final.
The crowded-final experiment at worlds wasn't exactly a success. It turned what could have been an amazing race with an amazing time into roller derby. So why they would have a golden league race with 10 in the top heat makes no sense. If not for anything else, this inhibits a blazing time.
Shit if anything Symmonds didnt belong it that final. The only reason he got in was because Som, Lewandowski and Kaki fell.
