Those are weak school PRs. Hard to believe those aren't from a high school instead of a D1 program.

Anyone here watch the race? She did a solid job. But she got 5th. She would have outkicked Burka there? No chance in hell.
If you look at the video of the fall, you'll see that Burka was dead meat. The breeze of Jamal and the Spaniard running by could have easily caused her to fall. No way she would have beat the top four.
I disagree sir.
Shannon ran a great race and got herself positioned with 200M to go for a shot at a medal. All hell broke lose and the results are what they are.
If Burka didn't fall who knows really what the final places would be? Burka was certainly starting to slow down (running in front was gutsy but not her normal mode), so I don't believe she would have been in the top 4 (I bet CWT would have caught her). The last 200M is the second part of the race.
But everybody here is just speculating. And to say Shannon would therefore be 5th may sound logical but who knows how the whole second part of the race would have played out if what happened didn't happen. Maybe she would have gotten 5th maybe she would have placed higher.
We'll never know so don't act like you do.
Barringer would have won the whole f***ing cheese.

I feel sorry for you. You always have to drag Barringer into a thread that has nothing to do with her and your comments are always speculative.
Rowbury got a medal. Barringer didn't. Get over it please!

She didnt earn the bronze she doesnt deserve it.
Its not negativity. It is common sense. She came in 4th place but got the award of the 3rd place finisher.

That's life sometimes the decisions go against you sometimes they go for you. Burka might not have got a medal - but after she was decked we will never know for sure. Rowbury ran a good race - she is not doing anybody out of a bronze medal. She also had no connection to the incident. It's her Bronze and she should be proud of it - & I'm 100% sure she will be!!!!
Belatedly reading the lead thread!
Maybe I would feel differently about taking the gold but that bronze is hers (I bet she doesn't send that medal back even if it is a funny shape!)

huh? she has a 2:01 800m pr. what is "a lot of natural speed" to you?
Not to mention she was California State champion in the 800 in 2001, won the AOC (original NON), and had a 2:08.52 PR in high school.
