I never claimed to be an expert. I just had a hypothesis that was based on my own observations (I work at a running store that does video gait analysis).
If my whole argument is invalid because my first premise is incorrect, it would be helpful to know what would be the correct version of my hypothesis. If most overpronation isn't a function of the arch then what is it?
I am not a minimalist. I do not attempt to convince anyone to convert to forefoot striking. But I have seen several people who have made the conversion to forefoot striking in minimal shoes who have reduced their overpronation as a result.
So Hayduke, please let me know where I have gone astray. It would be good to know as a person who fits people in shoes everyday for a living.
