Newton Shoes is promoting a nine-subject study (which I assume it sponsored) that concludes:
"9 athletes were tested (results see attached excel sheet).
"1. 8 out of 9 athletes had lower lactate levels at the faster pace with Newton shoes
"2. 7 out of 9 athletes ran faster or longer at the the fastest pace with Newton shoes
"3. 5 athletes had overall slightly lower lactate levels with Newton shoes compared to “normal” running shoes. 2 had higher lactate levels and 2 had approximately the same.
"4. There was no significant difference between heart rates with or without Newton running shoes.
"5. 2 athletes had higher lactate levels at the the slower paces with Newton running shoes, but lower levels at the faster paces. On of them was able to run longer at the fastest pace."
The study is described here:

(The link to the study itself does not work.)
Does anyone know of this study? Can anyone comment on its legitimacy?
