Hey folks. So I'd been nursing a sore left foot, and about a week back, midway through the run the pain became intolerable and I had to stop and walk. Hurt like hell afterwards and the next day, so I stopped running. Everyday, the pain lessened a bit. A week after the injury, I felt a minimal amount of pain walking around, so I decided to try running. Immediately I felt a sharp pain in my heel that got a little bit worse with each step, so I stopped.
Basically, I think it might be a stress fracture, but some of the symptoms seem off. 1) There is visible swelling below my left ankle on the outside of the foot. 2) My foot hurts most when I first get up, and feels better after warming up (that is until i start running on it). 3) Pushing on both sides of the bone doesn't generate any noticeable, unusual pain.
Is this a stress fracture, or maybe a rupture of soft tissue? When running, the pain feels deep, on the outside of my left heel. What do yall think?
