Stanford- They have all the talent in the world and so far have been very impressive. They have the most depth by far, and the big guns up front as well. Everyone talks about Colorado 1-2-3 punch (if Dathan does not run) with Torres-Torres-Slattery but Stanford can match that with Sage-Luchini-Robison-Hall?
Top 10 possibles: Sage, Robison, Luchini, Hall
Top 30: Dobson, Hejny, Tenforde, Emme
Arkansas- They may not have the talent Stanford has but traditionally they step up big at nationals and are always ready to battle. They know how to get the job done. They are solid up front with Cragg and Lincoln. Kimelli can be very good if he is on, which he will be at ncaa's. Sandfort has not been running well. He is a key for this team. If he can pull out what he did last yr. or better they will be in the hunt. Mulvaney or Alkin will round out their top 5.
Colorado- Last years champs. Huge guns up front. If Dathan races (it looks like he will. He is running 30 minutes day and I dont know why he would be running already if he isnt planning to race. It is CU's last chance to win for awhile) they will be solid, but still do not have a 5th man. There 5th will have to be better than 50th to win it this year and it I dont see it happening (we'll have a better understanding tomorrow.) Slattery needs to pick it up a little. Most would have thought he would be splitting the Torres bro's. He has so much natural ability its a shame he is not running in top 5 NCAA style. Jorge has a shot at the title. Ed and Slattery have the potential to be top 10, but they both wont be. Dathan can still be top 20 if he races and does not get hurt again. Their 5th....uh oh.
Scoring between these 3 teams considering Dathan runs and everyone stays healthy. Raw scores
1. Stanford (7,9,13,19,23) 71
2. Colorado (2,10,15,18,53) 98
3. Arkansas (4,7,14, 33, 55) 113
Atleast one of these teams will choke and score over 150.
