this announcer guessing at names - like taking Good Morning America host and have he or she announce Boston Marathon
61:35 for top 8 at 1/2mar
The pace is slowing so it will suit Tadesse over the last 8 to 10k
it certainly is going to be interesting to see what the guys end up with as they don't get their appearance fees if they don't finish, so there will surely be a few wobbles on the course today.
can we say interesting times
what about those khannouchi days when he complained that a 1h 02 for the first half is too fast!!! yucks
Men's pace is dropping now - 15:02 for the last 5km:

And Mikitenko is now dropping Yamauchi. Maybe we'll get less coverage of that race, once it's over as a contest.
Let's hope so. THe men should be a race of attrition in the second half.
Mikitenko trying to get rid of Yamauchi now.
Men hit half way in 1:01:35.
Is Ritz around 1:03:34 or so?
WHERE IS RITZ??
Mikitenko trying to push away from Yamauchi, who the announcers alternate calling "Yamamuchi" and "Yamanuchi".
Yamauchi officially dropped now.

Remember Wanjiru lost last year because of his less than perfect finishing. This time he says he has worked on it. And even if he has not improved much, Tadesse will have been dropped way before 35km. The only person to watch is the little Ethiopian. He seems to be sitting just behind him.
This link is a little better, shows all splits at once.
yep that is much better, thanks
