whatever happened to racing yourself into shape? I'm sure the kid isn't going to break if he runs a race once a week. Christ, is he a long distance runner or a glass figurine?
Well since it was already brought up and I want to keep this thread alive.... Craigs racing at BU Friday afternoon to try to qualify a DMR. Our league meet is Saturday and last time I checked we were all running three races on Saturday too. So that's 4 races in 2 days and a workout monday/wednesday.
Not sure who this is, but I don't think Pete likes it when we post on letsrun. This of course makes me a hypocrite, but I figured I should point it out.
And for the record, I didn't do anything hard on Monday- so this week I only have a workout Wednesday, then a race Friday and three races on Saturday. Piece of cake :)

The impression I get is that a *lot* of coaches don't want their students posting on message boards, not even to correct blatant inaccuracies. Makes good sense to me:
First, you're not going to change idiots' minds anyway (and it's almost always they who post the inaccuracies).
Second, if you're not training you should be in class (and paying attention i.e. NOT on letsrun); studying; working at your job; or chasing tail.
Third, why provide "bulletin board material" for a rival?

1) Good point
2) It's college. There's so much free time it's not even funny, regardless of how much class, work, and tail-chasing I do.
3) Rivals? I have rivals? Are you guys out there? Well, know this- I like ice cream! If you give it up, you can crush me.
Surprised no one has mentioned this yet.

Our coach encourages us to post on the boards here. He says it adds dynamic and character to the depth of the team. It also gets people pissed and they end up racing better to prove a point. Just saying!

Mister anonymous above should give his name and school to REALLY build dynamic and character and racing performance ! lol
Can we get back to the topic that this thread is supposed to be about.
Predictions at DIII Nationals.
Not yelling.....
Good run, but had to be a Northern guy who brought it up. My guess is it is Maus, needing his ego stroked.

Open or DMR anchor?
kaul is the man and everybody should know it
DIII is well represented with o'brien, kaul, and kosgei
Nice run for Kaul. Clearly the best in D3 right now, including Kosgei if he runs nats.
After looking at the BU Valentines results, what's going on with Cortland? Not that they are running terrible, but after incorrectly claiming they had a shot at the low point total in cross, they haven't had much of a showing in track. You'd think that a team that was so eager to talk they'd at least equal the performances of North Central. I was expecting more.
It was a great run by Kaul. However, I would not get too excited because there is a big difference in running on a 300 meter track as opposed to a 200m track.

Jimmy O'Brein (Ohio Northern) in the 8: 1:49.8
Kosgei (Hamilton) in the mile: 4:05.5
Jed Christiansen (Calvin) in the 5k: 14:22
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
