So I've been having pain at the base of my fifth metatarsal in my root foot, and i'm not sure what to do...
My season ended about a month ago, and at the time I felt no pain at all. When the season ended I took 4 days off and picked up my mileage back to where I was at the end of the season. On my second day training I had pains at the base of my fifth metatarsal and I couldn't walk the next day. I took a few days off and it got better pretty quickly so i started running again. i started much slower and after about a week, the pain started to get worse so i took a few more days off and started up running again every other day. the pain is pretty minor, but i feel like it's the type of thing that might not go away, so i'm trying to figure out what to do. the doctors poked a bit and said it was probably a bone issue, but since it keeps getting better so quickly, they really doubt that its a stress reaction/fracture. ive been cross training pretty hard, but i can feel myself getting out of shape, so im trying to figure out what to do. any suggestions??
