Does anyone know how many Division 1 Cross country and track programs do not have either an outdoor or an indoor track?
Thanks.

Does the university of pittsburgh have an outdoor track? I couldnt find it on there facility list.
oakland university does not although they have only had a track program for 4 years. i believe detroit mercy just built an outdoor track but i dont think they had one before. i think that is the only school in michigan
Do Georgetown and Providence have tracks? I know years ago Georgetown was training at a high school. Not sure about Providence, but I thought they used Brown's track for workouts.
I do not think Pitt has an outdoor track anymore....it was inside of the stadium which was torn down. If they have any meets, they would likely have them at Carnegie Mellon.
Not sure. Neither Gonzaga or Portland have outdoor tracks. They both have a jogging loop above basketball courts, but I wouldn't really count them as true indoor tracks.
Oregon State dosent either...they are in the middle of raising money for a track and a mens distance program.. Not sure why NIKE dosent jsut hand them over the money and bring back what used to be an amazing battle between OSU and Oregon the the 60s and 70s.
Keep in mind that neither Usain Bolt's nor Asafa Powell's program at U-Tech has either an indoor or outdoor track to train on. What they have is a (good) grass surface, which is about the same as what Georgetown has.
Name the athlete with Mondo Super-X at his disposal who has beaten Bolt lately.
Especially for cross, it simply is NOT an excuse. You can make it work if you want to.
Georgia Tech has some of the best concrete I have found.
i believe oral roberts doesn't have a track as well
95% of NCAA Division I programs do not have an indoor track.
15% of NCAA Divisin I programs don't have an outdoor track.
Georgetown trains on a 1/5 of a mile track that they fixed up at the Duke Ellington School near campus.
Providence has talked about building a track on campus but nothing yet.
no, pitt doesn't have an outdoor track. I wouldn't call that thing they have in the fieldhouse an indoor track, either.
Correct, we just built a 6 lane outdoor track at the University of Detroit Mercy a little over a year ago. Track has been here for many years, but the school hasn't had a facility since cinders were in style!
Space restrictions kept it to 6 lanes, but it does have a steeple pit (the only one in the city of Detroit, and one of very few until you get to Ann Arbor)!

University of Portland does not have an outdoor track and it's "indoor track" is just a couple of lanes that go around the top level of stands in the basketball arena, so it's not really a "track" either.
There isn't even a decent HS track nearby.
UALR trains at a local high school at their disposal but they have good grass locations in city parks
Back in 2005 when I ran for a rival college team (with a track), we shared our outdoor track with UAB because they didn't have one. Is that still the case?
boston college has very little, boston university has a great indoor facility but poor outdoor "track".
You can pretty much blame all those wanna be Division I Catholic Schools for sponsoring track and field programs without an indoor or outdoor track and field facility. A better question would be which public schools compete in Division I track and field without a facility.
