No, this kid isn't the second coming of Hernandez...he is the first coming of Trevor Dunbar, an improved version of German Hernandez.

Listen, d-bag. First of all, you need to learn how to read. I clearly wrote NEARLY optimal. For someone like you, who wets his pants when the wind blows too hard, I can see where you would be so intimidated that you feel the need to lash out.
Don't get pissy with me because the truth hits a little too close to home, marshmallow.
I've personally never seen less ideal conditions in my life. I've tried running on a track covered in ice once, and almost busted my ass. Couldn't even make it 100 meters.
Seriously, if you can think of less ideal conditions, please list them.

Hungry kodiak bears being present;
A Sarah Palin welcome home rally spilling over into lane one;
A sprinkler head bursting ten mins before the run and leaving a one inch deep pool of ice water all over the track.
I could go on and on. Clearly these conditions were at least near optimal.
I dont think adding ice to ice really makes a difference fool...
less ideal conditions include a massive pile of dead salmon covering the track!
i love the posts on this thread that seem to suggest even 32*, snow, and no wind is somehow ideal, and would furthur suggest that what trevor did (in these conditions) is no big deal.
tell you what: go run a 3200 in snow in close to freezing temps in almost 9min, make it look easy, post it on you-tube, and show us how big YOUR balls are.
Y'all need to chill out. I'm familiar with that type of weather and I seriously doubt there was any significant amounts of ice on the track. Ice is one thing but left over snow left in the tiny crevases in the track surface right after shoveling is not a big deal when wearing spikes. If it was a big deal he probably wouldn't have run as fast.
Trevor would probably agree that running fast in 80 degree weather with humidity is more difficult.
Let this thread go and let him do his thing at FL West and hopefully Nats.
......Are you kidin me!!!!.......I ran with this guy and seen him run.......HE IS FAST!!!!
Who is German Hernandez?
We have no Indoor track........
For those interested in history Don Clary ran a similar time trial and ran an 8:53 2M.

Not ice, ice water. So now your feet are soaking and freezing, and turning into heavy blocks of ice as you run.
Less than ideal conditions--eleven laps to the mile wooden track, indoors, in a smoke filled arena . . . and then try to run, say, 8:40.

shoulda started in the inside.
linked from our good friends at

What's his PR? How significant a time trial was this really?
