Interesting to note that EMU \"over-rated\" will be going up against those cross towns rivals UofM \"under-rated\" tomarrow at the Michigan Intercollegiates. There is a short course 4k and a long course 8k slated. It will be nice to see how these to teams stack up against eachother. One huge shcool, budget, nationally known vs. a small MAC school with no apparent budget and of course over rated BUT only seperated by 6miles between campuses.
Just one more thought....

First of all, I am not an EMU fan at all. However, they are not overrated. They are for real. Give credit where credit is due. As much as EMU does recruit 38 year old Kenyans, MIchigan has no room to talk with all the Canadians they bring in. It sounds to me like the Wolverines are a little jealous that a small MAC school is getting some well deserved recognition and is going to kick the shit out of them. But actually, that probably won't happen because those U of M snobs won't bring their A team to any meets. But they won't be able to dodge them at Districts.
U of M can use the foreigner excuse with EMU but what they are foregetting is that there is another MAC school that is going to kick their ass. Everyone seems to forget about CMU. The chippewas aree going to spank the Wolverines and they have a roster of nothing but americans. Sorry guys, there are some new boys on the block. Go MAC!
Unfortunately most people who notice the MAC only notice EMU (how can't you), but CMU is also a very good team. They finished well (not as well as they would've like to) at Griak and are now ranked in the top 20. I would however like to offer some advice Observer. Though they have potential to be a top 15 team, they haven't proven much yet. I read these forums (probably too much), and the one recurring theme for posts on CMU is that they think they are a top 5 team based on 5k track times (which are good, but not anything that most if not all the temas in the top 10 don't have). Unfortunately their results haven't shown as much. I know CMU fans are just trying to get some respect that they deserve from others in the region and the country, but be careful about how much you talk your boys up and let them prove it on the course.
By the way, I am a EMU fan.
What happens at Notre Dame, CCC's, Michigan Intercollegiates matters to lots of teams, but not to UM. They train through all of those meets. As always, they will peak when it is necessary- Districts and Nationals. What matters is not how EMU and UM does this weekend, but how they are doing in a month.
UM respects EMU greatly. They have battled back and forth for years. But when it comes down to the big meets, UM often comes out on top.
I hope you both get pumped in the ass and i can't wait 'til it happens.

Greenless won the 8k, and I think Sage was 3rd.
EMU ran there top 5 from Griak in the 4k and all ran well placing there 5th man ahead of UofM's 3rd! I know for a fact that they trained throu this meet. In the 8K EMU also swept the top 3sopts while UofM for some reason ran Greenless and Sage in the "open 8k"?. Weird? Crane (EMU) ran 25:05 for the course record followed by Pobursky in 25:06 (EMU)ahead of Greenless's time. The 4k course was long and the 8k course was just as challenging. weird
