The Missouri Valley 1500 is now up for grabs. The conference just got a little easier.

Criticize him all you want on academics, but this kid is a true talent. I don't blame him for transfering, following the coach that helped him acheive such success and going to a program with much better resources.

Rus I agree. If this kid wants to pass his classes Arkansas will help him do that. UNI is a good school but Arkansas has the means to keep a football team to keep eligible. They can help this guy as much as he can help them.

As a former (now) teammate, he was NEVER in question of academic eligibility. He is a real talent who is going to do GREAT things at Arkansas with Buck.

We'll miss him, but I think it's obvious that it was something he had to do.

Huge Huge mistake by Ulrey(IMO). UNI was primed for great things this year! Mulder is amazing and Perkins will benefit greatly from having a coach to run for away from how with no more questions about allegiance. Terence Reid is back for another year. UNI was primed to break 9:30 indoors. What does Arkansas have going on that front.

He isn't eligible though is he? Did UNI grant an unconditional release that would allow him to run indoors?

UNI is an upstanding institution that wishes Ulrey only the best in his running endeavors. There were no hurt feelings when he departed.

To run 4:00-4:02, 3-5 times in 4 weeks is a completely different story especially on the 60 miles a week Bucknam calls high mileage. Bucknam may be a very nice guy but he is so far in over his head it has to be hard for him to sleep.

The reality is Bucknam will lose his job in 3-4 years after being winless in the SEC over and over again! Dorian will have to grow a pair to run the much tougher conference with 6-10 Kenyans in each event form 800-5000. He has the talent no question.

Sorry to say that the truth hurts! Arkansas on November 3rd will lose the Conference Cross Country Meet for the first time in 35 years, and guess what they will be no team from the state of Alabama and have to fight for every point to get under Florida's score for 3rd Place!

It is too bad that Andy McClary and the top runner for Arkansas (2 Time Cross All-American) are also not going to be running this fall. McClary has a stress fracture in his foot!!

Oh, OSU Invite will be first and 2 Oklahoma team, OSU and Tulsa will clean up and eat Pork sandwiches. Tell me in November when Scott McPherson qualifies as an individual who is going to build the program, not this idiot who has denied John McDonnell's help and claims to have stated several times that he wants the SEC and NCAA trophies cleared out of the track office to make room for the ones he is going to win. Bucknam's non embracement of John McDonnel shows directly that this guy has the self esteem of a 14 year old who is way too tall for his grade and has extreme acne.

Seriously you really could be an idiot. First off to put all the blame on Bucknam for a tough season is rediculous. Any new coach would be dealing with the same injuries, the same shortened squad, the same transfers out (Barnicle) etc. But because it is not an alumni of Arkansas people have there panties in a huge ball. The SEC cross is going to be difficult considering that if Nationals is the right temp the winner of the SEC could be the winner of the NCAA, but then again they will have to get around a top heavy OK ST. team to do so.

Bucknam's non embracement of the McDonnell, come on, the guy respects full on Coach Mac. But lets be honest here, McDonnell retired, so why not allow a new coach to change things up a little bit, as apparent seems like the Old Hog ways were dying anyways.

Just to let you know, I live in San Francisco. This UNI coach is about to alienate all the Hog Track alumni with his self esteem problem, "bucking" the tradition. Bucknum will last 4 years max, I will bet you a $40,000 car on that one, youngling! I have nothing to lose, but Bucknum will lose plenty.

Walker and the Auburn kid will not touch Dave Smith, so good luck with that one in November. Dave Smith has 2 teams in Oklahoma that could beat Alabama! Maybe 3 that can beat Arkansas!

In a few years, Lance Harter's friend will be out of a job. Lance Harter's recommendation is how the man was hired in the first place -learned from some folks who worked with Harter back in the 80s- SLO DAYS. Maybe hiring a guys with zero real coahing experience at the SEC level just because Lance Harter likes him is where the mistake was made - that decision falls on Bev Lewis. Do you guys like being in Barhill, that is where we took ice baths back in the day!

All I know is that the 91, 92, and 93 cross teams I ran on all won the NCAA titles, so we got it done and Scottie Mac would not have made any of our teams top 5, not close. The 91 and 93 teams had 3 Hogs in the top 10 at the NCAA meet. In 91, 92, and 93 we had 5 or 6 guys in the top 40, what is Scottie's best finish. Ok, my point is well taken!!

Hell, Steve Magness should help coach the Arkansas Team, oh, he will have an excuse dealing with his thyroid and have to defer!! With Magness they could have the most under achieving miler in US history based on High School times and ZERO collegiate National Meet appearances!

Talk about Karma. A group of no life's sitting around who have nothing better to do than predict the demise of a legendary program. Can't we all just get along and get a life? Buck has big shoes to fill indeed, but somebody had to do it. Arkansas chose him. Of course he will bring his own flavor to the program that is why they hired him!!!
