Worst. Font. Ever.
Seriously, dude, I thought I was dyslexic when I went to that page.
Talk to Tim Budic (thee@run-insight.com) about the font, that's not under my control.
None of the guys on the iona team are "self promoting" themselves.
I find it hard to believe a school like Iona has much of a fan base.
Beat Train - F.Y.I, Nick Schneider did not run at Great American. Apparently some jerk found his number and decided to use it after Nick decided not to run. Notice that there are seven other Duke runners in front of "Nick".
That would be good for Nick's case.
However, who the hell runs with someone else's number? That would hurt his own team. But then again, running nearly 30 minutes for an 8k doesn't actually help too many teams.
Either way, I don't see Duke as being much better than where I have them.

Yeah, there have been atleast two threads in the last week about how Iona is guaranteed to win districts. BeatTrain was referring to one of them, I think, that was about how many guys broke 25:00 at VCP.
well i'm glad you proved that it was the iona college team self-promoting themselves. oh wait, you didn't. all i was saying is that i highly doubt that the team is typing that shit.
Schneider did run I saw him with my own eyes, I might have a picture too.

Don't count out the Buffs.
The beat train must be from the Great Lakes region because he ranks all the teams from that region too high.
Who is Beat Train? I assume hes a former college runner and hopefully a damn good one given his commentary. To me he comes accross as a bit of an arrogant ass in some of his analysis. That could just be his sense of humor and i guess you just gotta take his comments within the narrow context of elite D1 running. That said, I found the poll very interesting and thorough and look forward to more in the future.
My original version was too dry, so I tried to spice it up a bit. I wont lie, those that know me know I've been accused to being cocky. And I'm not an old runner but rather a current runner.
And you have to admit that after the Great Lakes and the Mountain West (who I feel I have ranked the highest actually), the rest of the districts cannot compare. The West and Southeast are usually tougher but are in down years.
The BEAT OFF train runs for Michigan State doesn't he!
According to his bio, which is on the website, he ran at NCAA XC Nationals in 2000. It also states what place he came in, so I'm sure if you really wanted to know where he used to run, you could just match that up with the full results from 2000. If you really care that much...
that is not beat train's bio, that is the founder of run-insight's bio. they are different people.
It doesn't matter who I am. I make the poll because I love the sport. Take it for what it is - entertainment. I stay anonymous because for whatever reason it's acceptable for Joe Schmoe who ran in high school to critique everyone and throw around opinions, but our athletes are supposed to stay away from that area. It's a gay double standard and that's why the majority of us runners don't go around posting under our real names. I can only think of a few that do, like Dan Wilson and Josh Spiker, and they always toe the line of staying politically correct because otherwise people will jump on their backs even more than the average steveu or King99 or JasonDoesYourMomInThailand.
