Here is something that all of the anti foreign crowd needs to realize - certain schools can easily recruit only American kids because of location, academics, or a variety of other reasons. When Mick could get an American kid that was good, he would pay for it and sign that person. Those times were somewhat rare.
Stanford can take only the best Americans and not have to even recruit hard. Why, you may ask (and the only reason you may ask is because you are not that intelligent)? It is because Stanford is a great school academically in a place with great weather and great facilities. Any coach that can't win at Stanford is not very good.
Mick will recruit Americans and whoever else he has to to win. Jerry had Canadians. You smart guys need to remember that Canadians are not Americans.

That was an extenuating circumstance as Bairu's high school coach had a preexisting relationship with the University.
You are probably correct on that. I have no idea if there were any others. My point was generally that not every school is equally desireable to american high schoolers even if you take out the coach.
