Rupp is not a pro, has never been a pro, and until he is, is free to compete in the Ncaa, while giving up 100's of thousands of dollars every year he sacrifices for the sake of his team.[/quote]
yeah but, yeah but, yeah but, but he's still under the Knight/Salazar/Nike/Oregon wing and gets to train with these world class runners and use some REALLY nice equipment so it's like he's a pro and we are going to go on hating him for it. Because he isn't good, he just was nurtured into being good.
Forget that he may or may not train with relentless ambition, focus and intensity year after year and that he is giving up riches to do it.
We are not going to like this guy because he sometimes makes awkward faces and statements and has been more fortunate than us in so many ways. We are NOT jealous, we just think there needs to be more balance. We also think that some of the billionaires who still work 80 hours every week need to lose some money to us while we work on taking anonymous jabs at elite runners over the internet while our moms cook up some spaghetti with meatballs.
