Just wanted to let everyone know of an interesting situation going on with USATF right now at the Olympic Trials. So Adam Goucher is #32 on the list for entrants to the 10K. The field according to USATF's limits should be 24. They are letting Goucher in however on a "special exemption" even though he only has the B standard since he ran 28:43. There are only 13 athletes with the A standard so the rest are in on B standards. The problem however is that Jeremy Johnson who ran 28:33 at NCAA's is being denied entrance into the race. Jeremy is currently up in Eugene ready to race, but USATF will not let him race even though they are letting in Goucher who is 3 spots behind Jeremy. Does anyone find it interesting that Goucher who is a NIKE athlete is being given special treatment by USATF?? If they let Goucher in at #32 then USATF should be required to let in everyone that is faster than him, AKA Jeremy Johnson. What does everyone think about this.
