The guy's got to be pushing 40 by now. Will he ever retire? Or will he still be stomping on American born runners when he's 45 years old?

b. December 12, 1974. I believe that makes him 33. Maybe the American born runners need to pick it up a notch. I believe Lagat's helping that happen.
Yeah, now that he's the world champion in the 1500 & the 5000, and having a great racing season in an Olympic year. Now that he's qualified for the Olympics in the 5000 and on the verge of qualifying in the 1500. With all kinds of sponsorship money out there as he attempts the double, and even more if he pulls it off. On the verge of getting that long-awaited gold medal to go with his silver & bronze.
Yeah, now's a good time to retire. I hear his alma mater might have a position open as an assistant track coach.
I shoulda retired before the Olympics.

LOL
you guys think Lagat will have any luck specializing in the 5k/10k/marathon after this year? because surely, he won't try to run the 1500m after this year due to age
Why not? He's still got one of the strongest kicks out there.

Yeah, because the instant he turns 34, he's gonna lose all of his leg speed....c'mon.

LOL. We got Kenyans under 18 and over 40 running sub 13.
Time to give up on the sport.

lol, I was thinking the same thing. That post makes no sense. What? do you think when he turns 34 he's going to double his distance or the marathon?!?! why would you even try to inquire about the marathon..thats the most absured notion.
