Now like every other avid runner, when track is on, I'm there watching it. But I can't stand how the American coverage covers the meet.
They cover the meet in a two hour time span which is fine, but they waste so much time doing buildups for the sprint events, introducing the competitors, watching every false start, reintroducing the competitors, interviewing the out-of-breath winner, interviewing the out-of-breath runner-up, and absolutely butchering the distance events.
The Europeans are on the ball. They do much shorter buildups and introductions of who's competing, there are no useless interviews, after an event you're right on to the next event. And best of all, you get to watch the distance events in their entirety!
All I do now is Tivo the meets and fast forward through maybe 60% of it. I watch every race but none of the crap.
Anybody else agree or is it just me?
