I tried to run several days after having a cast removed from my right foot. I had the cast on for 12 weeks and my foot was badly atrophied. So when I ran on it, I did permanent damage to the weakened foot. Now I have arthritis in every major joint in my foot and in my ankle. Running is out for life, and I will eventually have it amputated below the knee.
Jesus. I've been whining for decades, ever since I crippled myself and can never run again, but at least I'm able to walk without a limp (usually) and without pain (usually). I'd always hated walking before--don't like it now, but I'd hate to lose the ability.
Man, I feel for you. That f*ckin' blows.
